Domain Propagation

About Domain Propagation

Domain propagation is the process that takes place after you connect or update your domain’s DNS (Domain Name System) settings. It refers to the time it takes for all global DNS servers to recognize and reflect the changes made to your domain. During that time, your site may not be accessible from all devices or may appear insecure during this time. After the completion of Domain Propagation, your site will be accessible and secure globally.

Key Things Regarding Domain Propagation:

  • Domain propagation could take few minutes to up to 48 hours for full propagation, depending on your domain provider and DNS caching
  • During the Domain Propagation process, you might not be able to view your live website online.
  • Your previously connected live site may appear on your domain.
  • You may not receive emails connected associated with your domain.
  • Published changes to your site may take some time to appear on the live site.
  • Your site may not appear correctly in certain browsers until the process is concluded.
  • The SSL certificate will only be issued after the completion of the propagation process.
