Pharmacode: The Binary Safety System

Pharmacode, also known as Pharmaceutical Binary Code, is unique. It does not store data like a typical barcode (e.g., encoding a specific number directly in ASCII). Instead, it uses a single binary integer represented by wide and narrow bars.

Why use Pharmacode?

Its primary purpose is Packaging Control. In high-speed pharmaceutical packing lines, scanners verify that the leaflet, carton, and label all belong to the same product batch. If the Pharmacode on the leaflet doesn't match the system, the line stops immediately to prevent a medication mix-up.

Color Capabilities

Unlike almost all other barcodes which must be high-contrast black and white, Pharmacode is designed to be readable in multiple colors, allowing it to blend into packaging designs while remaining functional for laser scanners.
